A little taste of Orizaba

I went to Orizaba this week to visit JC and his family. Of course I got the frikken flu my second day, so i spent most of the time dying under the blanket. But we got to do a little sightseeing, and i really loved this city!
Along the river there is a mini zoo, so we went for a walk to check it out.

Silly :P

Reminds me of Akerselva in Oslo :) so beautiful...

They even had a beautiful leopard :)

New Years in San AndresTuxtla :) :)

I went to San Andres to celebrate newyears with Abril and Alejs family in a proper traditional way :)

To grandmas house we go! :) The path is decorated with glitter to give you wealth in the new year :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! :D

Happy Joon!! :D i dont know...

The streets were on fire!

In mexico they have a tradition for new years called viejo (the old). He is an old man filled with gunpowder and firecrackers, and at midnight we set him on fire and he blows to pieces! moahahahaha! :D He represents the old and bad things, and by burning him you are leaving all that in the past and welcoming the new :)

Me and viejo, having a last drink together :D

:P

The murder.... dam dam dam dam!!

CRAZY!! it was like wartime!

It looks like a person!!! creepy

My loves :)

I had an amaaaazing end to a otherwise fantastic year! :)
This year I have lived in 3 different continents, I have met sooo many amazing new friends. I have learned a new language, got an amazing job and just enjoyed life to the fullest :)
May the next year be just as fun and just as eventful :P (puh! yes! i can take another year of this :) im still young!)
Thanx to everyone who has participated in making this journey so wonderful <3 you know who u are <3

My first mexican wedding :)

Last week we went to Veracruz for the wedding of JCs friend. Since the entire population of Mexico City goes to Veracruz for new years, the traffic was horrible and we didnt make it there in time for the ceremony. :/ But the party afterwards was FUN! And since we are young and fun (!!), we were of course seated at the young and awesome table. we talked, sang and danced all night :D

The happy couple :)

The groom removes the garter from the brides leg

And then throws it to the men. The one who catches it is the next in line to marry :)

with our table companions :)

Pretty girls armed with bottles. Double trouble! :)

Cabrón! :P

look at the face of the girl in the back!! :D haahahah!
All of a sudden it was 7 in the morning (wtf? always!!!) :D I was supposed to go to San Andres to meet some friends the next day, but we were completely done for! :) so we stayed an extra night in Veracruz instead <3

Yes! This is exactly how we felt! :P

Viejos - these old men are filled with firecrackers and gunpowder and set on fire on new years :) But ill tell you more about that in the next post ;)
