Tulum - paradise on earth

After a lazy week on the beach in Playa del Carmen i went with a friend for some mayan adventures in Tulum. And i thought Playa was gorgeous, i had noooo idea! :P Tulum was secluded, quiet and absolutely paradise on earth!

First we went on a tour to the ruins in Tulum, we visited a mayan village, the pyramid in Cobá and swimming in cenotes, natural underearth caves.

We booked a beautiful room right on the beach in Tulum and just chilled out and enjoyed the silence... :)

After my friend left i got a room at Yoga Shala on the beach, cheap and beautiful! :)

That night I went to a club on the beach with a bunch of people I met. To my big sadness my phone ran out of battery. so the night will remain a mystery :/ But it was insane! costumes, shows, drinks, fire everything!! :D But since I have no proofs, maybe it was all a dream.....? :P

Tulum was absolutely amazing.... so relaxed during day, and amaaaazing parties at night! Everything was so random and unbelievable. So if you have a chance to go, GO!! :D
Stay in one of the many cute hostels on the beach, talk to the locals on where to go for dinner or fun... diverse and cheap artifact shopping in the city centre. Fun parties on Papaya Playa, Curandero in the centre and abunch of other places. each night has its own place where everyone goes, so just talk to people and you will know :)

Since I'm a bad planner and didnt have a return flight to Xalapa, i had to take the buss 16 hours, as there were no flights during the holidays. you would think id learn...? but im a heavy sleeper, so it wasnt to bad :)

Glad to be home again with the baby turtles and our new adopted kitty!!! :D

Beaching it in Playa del Carmen

I went for a week of lazy vacation in Playa del Carmen. It was very needed! since im living a very hectic life in Xalapa i mean.... :P 

I just chilled on the beach, had massages, ate delicious seafood and went to bed early every night. jeje! some of might not believe that, but its truuuue ;)

So what can i say about Playa del Carmen? the beach is beautiful, the people are beautiful. the seafood is amazing!! but expensive... the city is very samll and easy to get around. 5th avenue is the mainstreet with many bars, restaurants and shopping. 12th street crosses the 5th and thats where all the clubs are located. There are multiple tours you can go on, but its wise to look around before you choose, cause the price differs alot and be precise on what you want to do so they dont take u elsewhere cause its better for them. And many of the places are easier and cheaper to go alone with the local buses.

Book your hotel in advance at booking.com for ex. its way cheaper than just showing up. (this goes for all of mexico:)

Withdraw cash in pesos as the dollar currency is bad, and choose the ATM according to your bank. The fees are crazy high in some of the banks. (for norwegians: Santander in 12th street or Banamex)

Luckily my friend works with activities in Playa so we got to play with dolphins!! AMAAAAAZING! i am now a dolphin girl! were talking posters, t-shirts, book covers..the whole package :P

After a lazy week in Playa Del Carmen my co-worker from Xalapa came for a few days and we moved on to gorgeous Tulum for a dip in the mayan culture..
